MAGNUM
Magnum is one of the most renown photo-journalistic groups in the world, to many people if your work for magnum you are considered at the very top of the photo-journalist world. Henri Cartier-Bresson a distinguished photographer was the co-founder of Magnum, other founders of Magnum were photographers such as the great war photojournalist Robert Capa, death camp and African photo-journalist George Rodger and Spanish civil war photo-journalist David Seymour.

Photo-Journalism is a way of making people aware of situations which other wise would be over looked. Before TV and radio photo-journalism was the only way in which people could know of issues across seas such as the process of war's in far away lands even since the invention of radio and tv photo-journalism is a key media. Which influences people to take action towards the help of issues such as animal endangerment and human suffering. In many types of photo-journalism especially war PJ images are taken not for beauty or to be compositionaly effective but are taken to show the raw truth of death, crime, pain and suffering.
DEADPAN PHOTOGRAPHY
Deadpan photography is an important method of photo-journalism it is not a form of art or ascetically pleasing but it shows the view the real deal and gives the story a serious point of you instantly letting the viewer know this is not here to make you happy its here to show you a situation. I do respect and see the reason behind deadpan photography, in my project it would tie in very well but I do not want to bore the view as my subject to some may be considered dry and tedious so I will have to find a happy medium where it does not look like I am trying to glamorize the situation but at the same time keep my viewers interested.
James Lomax seems to be a complete deadpan purist all of his images I have seen seem to be non edited very basic composition but you know what the images are about as soon as you loo at them.
